Old Virginia Home is a family owned business, the result of over three generations of cabinetmakers. Our shop is located in Nelson County Virginia, a beautiful unspoiled county nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains. During the 1930s Earl Hamner, Jr. began writing of his experiences growing up in Nelson County during the Depression. Those writings provided the substance for the Waltons TV series. Two-thirds of Nelson County are forest covered mountain ranges. Within minutes from our shop is the highest cascading waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. This is an area rich in history, void of traffic lights and fast-food restaurants, where time actually stands still.
