SPECIAL FEATURES: Hand Crafted from Eastern White Pine, finely sanded and ready-to-finish. The Shakers believed that their furniture designs should be plain and functional. These shelves are the perfect country accent pieces to compliment any room decor. Sturdy in design and construction and great for displaying books, pictures, stuffed animals and collectibles. A "plate groove" on the top of the shelf enables plates to stand vertically. Classic maple shaker pegs are spaced 6" apart. There are two mounting holes drilled through the backboard to secure the shelf to the wall. (The mounting holes in the 28" and wider shelves are spaced in multiples of 16" to align with wall studs). If screwing directly into wall studs is not possible, we recommend the use of an "anchor" type fastener for maximum support of heavy objects. Two maple end grain buttons are provided to cover the mounting holes.
